Bradford Problem Solving Series Grades 58
Developed by: Bibliogem, Inc. and Interactive Technologies Corp.
Bradford Problem Solving is a series of five software programs offering practice and remediation in specific content areas. Using a variety of problem solving strategies, these packages reinforce the need for understanding mathematical concepts and mastering computational skills.
Each program consists of 20 problems covering five specific objectives for a total of 100 problems per title, and includes a cumulative test. Students are given two chances to answer the problem; reinforcement and remediation are provided as needed, an explanation of the problem can be accessed, and an optional onscreen calculator is available. A management system records students' progress.
Some of the strategies required include:
Estimation
Reading charts and tables
Drawing pictures
Creating charts and tables
Finding patterns
Eliminating extraneous information
Addressing NCTM Standards, the Problem Solving series explores realworld problems and concepts such as measurement, geometry, and spatial sense as settings for using and mastering basic computational skills.
Titles Whole Numbers
Fractions: Addition and Subtraction
Fractions: Multiplication and Division
