Bradford Problem Solving Series - Grades 5-8
Developed by: Bibliogem, Inc. and Interactive Technologies Corp.
Bradford Problem Solving is a series of five software programs offering practice and remediation in specific content areas. Using a variety of problem solving strategies, these packages reinforce the need for understanding mathematical concepts and mastering computational skills.
Each program consists of 20 problems covering five specific objectives for a total of 100 problems per title, and includes a cumulative test. Students are given two chances to answer the problem; reinforcement and remediation are provided as needed, an explanation of the problem can be accessed, and an optional on-screen calculator is available. A management system records students' progress.
Some of the strategies required include:
Estimation
Reading charts and tables
Drawing pictures
Creating charts and tables
Finding patterns
Eliminating extraneous information
Addressing NCTM Standards, the Problem Solving series explores real-world problems and concepts such as measurement, geometry, and spatial sense as settings for using and mastering basic computational skills.
Titles Whole Numbers
Fractions: Addition and Subtraction
Fractions: Multiplication and Division
