Math Trek Trigonometric Functions - Grades 10-12
Developed by: NECTAR Foundation
Math Trek Trigonometric Functions is designed to let students dynamically learn about trigonometric graphs, equations, and applications. The tutorials emphasize a transformational approach to identifying graphs and equations of the six basic trigonometric functions. Students also learn how to solve trigonometric equations in both linear and quadratic forms and how to apply techniques to real-life situations. Following each main topic is a summary along with practice questions and an optional quiz. Results are reported on screen with an option to print.

Learning outcomes: Defining trigonometric functions from a unit circle; Discovering the similarities and relationships between each function and its co-function; Identifying the period and amplitude, of transformed functions; Identifying properties and exact function values as a consequence of their unit circle definitions; Describing the transformations required to produce a given graph; Determining the defining equation given the graph; Sketching a graph given its period and amplitude, a description, or the defining equation; Solving for x given restricted and unrestricted domains; Applying trigonometric functions to real-life situations.
